Abstract
The friction and wear behaviors of CF/Ekonol, PTFE/Ekonol and CF/PTFE/Ekonol composites have been comparatively investigated. It is found that CF and PTFE have shown the synergistic effect on the tribological properties. Compared with neat Ekonol, the friction coefficient is decreased by 56% and the wear resistance is improved by 1.8 × 104 times. PTFE helps in improving the interface adhesion between the infusible Ekonol particles, and carbon fibers are added to provide a backbone for the Ekonol and reduces the adhesion between the material and counterpart to form a more uniform and continuous transfer film.
