Virtual coder design and rotation speed measurement

Abstract

In order to satisfy the requirement of high accuracy rotation speed measurement in moving systems, the concept of virtual coder has been put forward. Through comparing virtual coder with speed generator and common coder, the strongpoint of virtual coder is shown. Rotation speed measurements in diamond grinding machine and intelligent car using virtual coder are used as examples, and the measurement results prove that the virtual coder can be used for high accuracy rotation speed measurement effectively.
