An experimental study of the effect of spark energy on piloted ignition of wood

摘要

The effect of spark piloted energy on ignition of wood has been studied under different external heat flux. The trends of ignition time, mass loss rate at ignition time and critical heat flux varying with the spark energy have been measured and analyzed. It is concluded that ignition time gets shorter with the increasing of the spark energy. The higher the spark energy, the smaller the mass loss rate at ignition time and the critical heat flux. The critical heat flux of China fir is derived to be about 11~15 kW/m2 under different spark energy.
