N2 - This paper focuses on the seismic damage assessment mechanism of SRC specially shaped columns. The seismic design quantitative indexes based on the performance were firstly established via the seismic test results of 17 specimens. Based on the dual criteria of deformation and energy, the Park-Ang model was modified and proposed by introducing the combination coefficient to analyze the seismic performance evolution of SRC specially shaped columns with considering the mechanical characteristics of specially shaped column structures. The results show that the seismic performance levels of SRC specially shaped columns can be divided into five grades, including regular service, temporary service, service after repairing, life safety and prevent collapse. Under the probabilistic reliability of 84.13%, the column displacement angle limits of SRC specially shaped columns at the corresponding 5 performance levels were 1/700, 1/150, 1/100, 1/50 and 1/35, respectively. The modified Park-Ang damage model can reflect the seismic damage evolvement rule of SRC specially shaped columns well. The earthquake damage assessment basis for SRC specially shaped columns under different performance levels is made clearly by controlling the damage threshold.
