T1 - Effect of MgTiO 3 on sintering properties of Mg 2SiO 4-SiC composites

N2 - Basing on pre-synthetic Mg 2SiO 4 and MgTiO 3 powders by conventional solid-state reaction method, the Mg 2SiO 4-MgTiO 3-SiC composites were prepared in hydrogen atmosphere with pressureless sintering. The effects of ratio of Mg 2SiO 4 and MgTiO 3, the addition of MgTiO 3, sintering temperature, holding time on the composites sintering properties and phase composition were investigated. The results showed that the optimal mole ratio of Mg/Si in Mg 2SiO 4 is 2.02, the optimal mole ratio of Mg/Ti is 1, the phase composition of Mg 2SiO 4-MgTiO 3-SiC composites is Mg 2SiO 4, MgTiO 3 and 6H-SiC. The addition of MgTiO 3 can promote the sintering, and the optimal holding time is 1 h.
