摘要

An experiment was conducted in a wind tunnel for studying effects of environment temperature, air speed and air humidity on the oxidation process of iron sulfide, using an installation of oxidation experiment in natural environment. The results showed that iron sulfide has greater activity and natural oxidation tendency, which could react with oxygen in open system at room temperature and then lots of heat is released. Air speed can either promote or prevent development of self-ignition process. When air speed is 1.5 m/s, iron sulfide has the strongest self-ignition tendency. Heat dissipation rate is low at high temperature, which enhanced potential danger of iron sulfide. The liability of spontaneous combustion of iron sulfide increases with increasing air humidity.
