摘要

To study the melting characteristics and fire spreading behavior of metal sandwich plates during the fire spill plume, a small experimental platform was built according to NFPA285 and ISO 13785-2 test standards. The results showed that the fire behavior is driven by the exposure of the core material, and this happens by routing of the panels, deformation due to heat exposure or melting of the core. The fire risk of the façade of the metal sandwich plate with different splicing models was evaluated. It was found that when there was no splicing gap in the midline of the fire source during a window spill fire, the peak temperature above the window was the lowest. In the façade system, the width of the metal sandwich plate and the maximum temperature showed an inverse linear relationship. When the height of the plate decreased, the heating rate of the plate above the window increased. The fire spread in the façade system was accompanied by a change in the sandwich panel size, and the corresponding dimensionless expression was obtained.
