Influence of additives on the fire suppression performance of water mist

摘要

This paper presents an experimental study on the influence of additives on the fire suppression performance of water mist. Different concentrations of NaCl and compounds were used as additives of water mist, and the corresponding extinguishing time and cooling rate were measured. The results show that the additives used in this study can improve the efficiency of water mist on fire suppression, including reducing the extinguishing time, increasing suppression stability and accelerating the cooling rate. According to the analyses of fire suppression processes, the impact of additives is primarily the enhancement effect of NaCl, and the compound relies on the physical effects, such as potentiating heat absorption and evaporation processes of droplets, promoting the spread and emulsify effect, improving foaming and stabilizing capacity.
