T1 - Influencing factors of external pressure characteristic induced by venting gas explosion

N2 - To reveal the effects of volume of vessel, vent diameter, structure and form on the external pressure of venting gas explosion, a series experiments were performed in both 0.022 m3 and 0.113 m3 spherical vessels. When venting explosion occurred at different failure pressure through different volume, vent diameter, structure and form, the development history of external pressure was obtained. The smaller the vessel volume, the higher the maximal external pressure, and the less time the shock wave duration. When vent diameter increases within 0.04 m, both the maximal external pressure and the maximal rate of external pressure rise increase nonlinear, with a stagnation point in the curve of pressure versus time. Meanwhile, complicated vessel structure and form has significant effect on venting explosion. Compared with single vessel, the maximal external pressure and the maximal rate of external pressure rise in linked vessels both increase more obviously. In the process of venting explosion of linked vessels, compared with big vessel, the maximal external pressure of small vessel is relatively large, however the maximal rate of external pressure rise is small.
