Interdiffusion study and assessment of mobility for Ti-Mo alloys

摘要

Interdiffusion in the bcc Ti-Mo binary alloys was investigated using the diffusion-couple approach in the temperature range of 1223-1423 K. Interdiffusion coefficients over the entire concentration range were then extracted from the diffusion profiles by using the Sauer-Freise method for the concentrated alloys and by the Hall method for the alloys near the limiting concentrations, respectively. The results show that the interdiffusion coefficients of the bcc Ti-Mo binary alloys considerably decrease by more than two orders of magnitude with increasing Mo contents. The present experimental data and diffusion data from literature were assessed to develop the diffusion mobility for the bcc Ti-Mo alloys. The developed mobility database was validated by successfully simulating a number of diffusion-couple experiments.
