Inverse system control of chaos in permanent magnet synchronous motors

Aiming at the chaos dynamic behaviors of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) in operation, an inverse control method for the chaos motion of PMSM is proposed. Firstly, the model of PMSM in the rotor-field-oriented frame was transformed into the non-dimensional form via the multi-time scale transformation. Then, the chaos behaviors of PMSM were analyzed by using phase portraits and bifurcation diagrams. On the basis of the invertibilty analysis of the PMSM chaos system, the inverse system was implemented by means of state feedback. It was connected with the original PMSM chaos system in series to form the pseudo linear composite system, which is equivalent to a 2nd-order integrator. Consequently, the close-loop controller can be designed by using linear synthesis method to control the PMSM chaos system. Simulation results show that the proposed method achieves the asymptotic tracking to the input reference of the PMSM chaos system. The control system possesses good static and dynamic response performance.
