N,N′-Bis(2-quinolylcarbon-yl)hydrazine

The title compound, C20H14N₄O₂, crystallizes in the ortho-rhom-bic system with a crystallographic twofold axis through the N- N bond. The mol-ecule is non-planar and the dihedral angle between two amide groups is 74.9 (2)°. An intra-molecular N- H⋯N hydrogen bond is present. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are packed in chains running along the c axis through inter-molecular N- H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These chains are further stabilized by inter-molecular C- H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C- H⋯π inter-actions leading to the formation of a three-dimensional network.
