Photoresponsive hydrogels with high wavelength selectivity for near-infrared light

摘要

Three rare earth organic complexes of Yb(TTA)2AAPhen, Nd(TTA)2AAPhen and Sm(TTA)2AAPhen with reactive ligands of acrylic acid (AA) were incorporated separately into poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) via in-situ free radical copolymerization. The synthesized three hydrogels with distinct dangling functional groups presented characteristic absorption peaks in near-infrared (NIR) light region and highly selective photothermal effects upon the illuminations of NIR light at 980 (Yb), 808 (Nd), and 1064 nm (Sm), respectively. Efficient volume contractions were merely achieved using the corresponding appropriate NIR light. The applications of photoresponsive hydrogels with high wavelength selectivity in microfluidic devices, controlled release carriers and soft actuators were explored.
