Preparation and formation mechanism of calcium sulphoaluminate

摘要

Calcium sulphoaluminate (3CaO·3Al2O3·CaSO4, C4A3S̄) was prepared with chemical reagents CaCO3, Al2O3, CaSO4·2H2O. The formation mechanism of C4A3S̄ was investigated by chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry-thermogravirnetry and scanning electron microscopy and energy disperse spectroscopy. The results show that C4A3S̄ is formed in three kinds of ways. C4A3S̄ is formed mainly by solid reaction of CaO, Al2O3 and CaSO4 below 1100°C. Other two ways are either through 12CaO·7Al2O3 (C12A7) or monocalcium aluminate (CA) act as the interphase in the formation of C4A3S̄ above 1100°C.
