Preparation and properties of MgO-MgAl2O4 composite ceramic

摘要

The effects of the component of MgO-MgAl2O4 composite ceramic and the additive on the sintering, mechanical and thermal properties were investigated. The results show that the thermal expansion coefficient of the MgO-MgAl2O4 composite ceramic is the same as that of the anode-supported solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) material--NiO/YSZ at Al2O3 content of 20%. The compound additives can improve the sintering, mechanical and thermal properties. When the mass ratio of CaO/SiO2 is 2%, the specimen has the lowest porosity and the highest flexural strength. However, the optimal thermal shock resistance occurs at the mass ratio of CaO/SiO2 of 8%. The thermal expansion coefficient of MgO-MgAl2O4 composite ceramic is not related to the addition of CaO/SiO2. There is little difference between the bond condition and the strength of the composite member with a content of 20% Al2O3 and 6% CaO/SiO2 after 20 times of air cooling circulation at 600℃ in the presence of NiO/YSZ.
