N2 - As a novel type of photovoltaic cell, organic solar cell(OSC) has achieved significant improvements. It has received considerable attention due to its simple fabrication process, low cost, flexibility, and light weight. In this paper, the developments of organic solar cells in recent years are reviewed. The working principles and research progresses of three typical structures such as single heterojunction structure, bulk heterojunction structure and stacked/ tandem structure are compared and analyzed. Also, the advantages and disadvantages of various device structures are discussed and the development trends of organic solar cells are prospected.
