N2 - Mesoporous molecular sieves immobilized ionic liquids possess the advantages of both the ionic liquids and the mesoporous molecular sieves. The use level of the ionic liquids is significantly reduced and their applications are broadened. The immobilization methods of the ionic liquids, namely impregnation method, grafting method and sol-gel method, were introduced, and the researches of the mesoporous molecular sieve supported ionic liquids in various areas, namely catalysis, separation and electrochemistry, were summarized. It was forecasted that researches for the mechanisms of the specific application processes, interaction between the ionic liquids and the supports, the control of active species flowing away and the reusability of the immobilized ionic liquids were trends in the future.
