摘要

Triplet energy transfer between organic dyes and lanthanide-doped luminescent nanoparticles (LnLNPs) energetically bridges organic dyes and inorganic LnLNPs, which can combine superiority and overcome limitations associated with the optical properties of organic dyes and LnLNPs. As a result, the triplet energy transfer can enable the unprecedented performance of organic dyes and LnLNPs in the harvest and conversion of photonic energy. In this review, we first introduce some fundamentals of triplet energy transfer. Probing methods and manipulation strategies for triplet energy transfer between organic dyes and LnLNPs are then surveyed, and recent research directions and corresponding achievements are reviewed. Finally, some challenges and perspectives for pursuing robust, flexible, and efficient triplet energy transfer between organic dyes and LnLNPs are discussed.
