Research progress in catalytic combustion of volatile organic compounds

摘要

VOCs is one of the major sources of air pollutions. The catalytic combustion method is one of the most effective techniques of removing volatile organic compounds. In this review, the catalytic combustion of VOCs with regard to active species such as noble metal catalysts, mixed metal oxides, spinel and perovskites catalysts, catalyst species, active components, characteristics and application of catalysts are evaluated. Furthermore, the effect of sulfur on the catalytic combustion process is discussed. According to the different abilities of sulfur tolerance, some relevant proposals are made in order to improve the catalytic sulfur resistance. Finally, its development prospect is presented and the prospect for development of the catalysts is also made.
