Synthesis, structure and properties of a new dinuclear Co(II) triple-helical complex

摘要

A new complex, [Co2(C25H30N4)3] (NO3)4·8H2O, has been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, ESI-MS spectroscopy, electronic absorption spectrum, and magnetic measurements. The cation of the complex contains two cobalt(II) atoms and three ligands (L), which twist around the Co(II)-Co(II) axis, leading to a dinuclear triple helix. Each cobalt(II) atom is six-coordinated with three Co-N (pyridyl) and three Co-N (N=CH-) of three ligands (L), and attains a pseudo-octahedral coordination geometry. Magnetic measurements show that the complex is a high-spin species in the temperature range of 75-300 K.
