N2 - This paper aims to fabricate a type of transparent film to protect human activity and health against ultraviolet (UV) light and high-energy visible (HEV) light. UV326, UV531 and pigment yellow 14 (PY14) were embedded into ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) as UV absorbers and HEV absorbers, respectively. The optical characteristics of EVA blends were primarily explored using Ultraviolet-visible-near-infrared spectrophotometer (UV-Vis-NIR), Luminous transmittance and Haze meter, Fourier transform infrared spectrometer. Meanwhile, the heat insulation performance was tested indoor with a solar simulator and outdoor under actual sunlight irradiation. The results of UV-Vis-NIR revealed the EVA film containing UV326 (0.5 phr) and PY14 (0.01 phr) performed ~100% UV-blocking and HEV light shielding of 42.0%. Simultaneously, this film retained visible light transmission of over 73.9% and performed a ~5 °C decrease compared with pure EVA film in the heat insulation performance test, suggesting a certain heat insulation property without ambient interference.
