Using highly reactive tellurium precursors to synthesize organic hybrid indium-tellurides

摘要

By using two highly reactive tellurium precursors Te-DMF and Te-DMAC (DMF ​= ​N,N-dimethylformamide, DMAC ​= ​N,N-dimethylacetamide) as tellurium sources, three organic hybrid indium-tellurides featuring one-dimensional chains were solvothermally synthesized, namely [Hpip]2 [In(en)3][In5Te10] (1), [HDBU][InTe(Te2)] (2), [Hmd][InTe2] (3) (en ​= ​ethylenediamine, pip ​= ​piperazine, DBU ​= ​1,8-diazabicyclo-[5.4.0]undec-7-ene, md ​= ​2-methyl-1,3-diazinane). In particular, compound 1 shows an unique right-handed double helical [In5Te10]n5n- chain. It is worth noting that the two highly reactive tellurium precursors Te-DMF and Te-DMAC are crucial to the synthesis of 1–3, since no crystals can be isolated when replacing Te-DMF and Te-DMAC with tellurium powder. We believe that these soluble tellurium precursors could act as ideal tellurium sources for the preparation of new organic hybrid metal tellurides.
