title = "Wettability of nano-heterogeneous surfaces covered by self-assemble monolayers (SAMs)",
abstract = "Nano-heterogeneity is of importance on influencing the micro- and macroscopic properties of surfaces. And the nanotribological property (microscopic) of a surface is related with its wettability characterizied by the contact angle measurements (macroscopic). There have been many researches on the tribology and wettability of a heterogeneous surface, such as the superhydrophobic surfaces. Most of these surfaces are physically heterogeneous, so the influence of surface roughness can not be ignored in friction experiments. In this work we applied the method of self-assemble monolayers (SAMs) and the photocatalytic degradation of SAMs to prepare chemically nano-heterogeneous surfaces on mica by octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS). The characterizations of the various nano-heterogeneous surfaces were investigated by Atom Force Microscopy (AFM), contact angle measurements.",
