Abstract

Aerogel, with extremely low thermal conductivity, is a highly efficient thermal insulation material.At present, high temperature resistant and adiabatic aerogels can be classified into three categories according to constituents: oxide aerogel, carbon aerogel and carbide aerogel.Compared with the other two kinds of aerogels, carbide aerogel has better high temperature resistant performance and more stable mechanical properties, which is more promising for further development.Research progress on aerogels with high temperature resistance is reviewed, and the temperature resistant performance of carbide aerogels is emphatically reviewed.Future research development of carbide aerogels is also discussed.
