Abstract

A complex, Cd(8-aminoql)(SCN) ₂ (1) (8-aminoql=8-aminoquinoline), was synthesized and structurally characterized. The Cd ²+ ion exhibits distorted octahedral coordination geometry and each SCN"anions bridging the neighboring Cd(8-aminoql) ²+ units form a 2D sheet coordination polymer, and further extended into a 3D supramo-lecular structure through TT-TT weak interactions. The complex emits green luminescence at room temperature. CCDC 737144.
