Abstract

Vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data of ethyl acetate(EA)-diethyl carbonate (DEC) binary system were determined by using an improved Rose VLE caldron at 100.47 kPa. The obtained data of liquid activity coefficients were checked by Herington method, and the results show that the experimental data satisfy the examination of the thermodynamic consistencies. The VLE data were correlated by using chemical engineering analogue software Aspen Plus with the Wilson or NRTL mode, and the regressive vapor compositions under the different modes were compared with the corresponding experimental data, with the average deviations of 0.007 8 and 0.006 8 respectively. The result indicates that the two modes are suitable. These data can be used for relevant chemical engineering design.
