Abstract

Oxidation experiment was made on iron sulfide by spontaneous ignition test system to explore the spontaneous combustion tendency of iron sulfide in natural environment. The results show that iron sulfur has greater activity and natural oxidation tendency. Long sulfurization time and big exposure area can accelerate temperature rise, but higher water content, small exposure area and as some oil can lessen the spontaneous combustion tendency.
