Abstract

A microwave-assisted liquid-phase Gewald synthesis of 2-aminothiophenes was developed using task-specific ionic liquid - [2-hydemim][BF₄] as soluble support. This new synthetic method is simple and efficient, and the products are obtained in good to excellent yields with high purities, without the need for chromatographic purification.
