Abstract

Ananoporous carbon was prepared by calcining a mixture of nano-CaCO 3 and phenolic resin followed by an etching process to remove the remained impurities. It was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and charge-discharge measurement. With a pore-distribution concentrated around 50 nm, the product presents a BET surface area of 543 m 2/g.When used as an anode material for lithium ion battery, the nanoporous carbon exhibits good rate capability and cycling performance.
