Abstract
The dielectric barrier discharge characteristics of three electrode configurations, plate-plate, multineedle-plate and mesh, are studied and compared and distinguished by means of measured voltage-current oscillograms and discharge photos. Based on discharge mechanism, the experiment results are analyzed. Results show that: the plate-plate DBD displays filamentary discharge mode and the multineedle-plate DBD displays diffuse conical mode and the mesh electrodes DBD expresses homogeneous discharge mode without filament, which can be used to obtain atmospheric pressure glow discharge.
