Abstract

The model establishment of luminous intensity distribution is very complicate, especially when the solute in the liquid has luminous absorbability. In this article, the modified two-flux model was used to simulate luminous intensity distribution in the heterogeneous photoreactor. The equivalence concept was applied to determine the parameter WCa, which is the catalytic equivalent of the organic contaminant having luminous absorbability. By this means the parameters in model could be determined and the luminous intensity distribution model of liquid-solid slurry system was built. Using methyl orange (MO) as contaminant model, relation between luminous intensity and degradation velocity, and relation between original concentrate of MO and degradation velocity were determined by experiments. Based on these two relations, the intrinsic kinetic equation can be formed. Resident time distribution was also measured, and the annular reactor model was built by combining above three aspects. Results show that the agreement of the model is good and it is helpful for the design of heterogeneous liquid annular reactor.
