Abstract

The irreducible tensor method was used to calculate the matrix elements of spin-exchanging Hamiltonian for s1 = s2 = s3 = 1/2 trinuclear spin system, and the corresponding energy eigenvalues were obtained. A magnetic susceptibility formula for this trinuclear spin-coupling system was deduced from Heisenberg-Dirac-van Vleck equation, and extended to special cases, such as equilateral, isosceles triangle or linear trinuclear spin-coupling systems.
