Abstract
The electronic control unit and crankshaft position sensor for a air-assisted direct injection engine were designed and developed. On this basis, the timing control strategies of the air-assisted direct injection engine were presented, including software timing, air-assisted fuel injection timing and ignition timing. In order to achieve the precise control of the engine timing, a method of “count teeth delay” control was proposed. Simulation and bench test show that the timing control strategies based on the self-developed electronic control unit for air-assisted direct injection engine are accurate and feasible.
