DBD plasma jet in atmospheric pressure neon

摘要

A dielectric barrier discharge plasma jet in atmospheric neon driven by a high-frequency power supply is developed. The length and shape of the plasma jet can be changed by varying the gas flow rate and applied voltage amplitude. The results indicate that the length of the jet increases with the increase of the applied voltage amplitude and the shape of the jet changes from taper shape into long cylindrical shape at higher gas flow rates. The plasma jet with the largest length of 7.32 cm can be generated at a gas flow rate of 1 L/min -1 and an applied voltage amplitude of 15 kV. This plasma jet with moderate intensity is suitable for medical sterilization, material surface modification, etc.
