Radar-wave absorbing property of cement-based composite doped with steel slag

摘要

Several ferrous phases exist in steel slag by large proportion, the radar-absorbing properties were studied with the arched testing method at different thickness and curing time in 1~18 GHz frequency range. The results show that the sites of absorption peak of the composites do not change at dif-ferent curing time and proportion of steel slag, but change to lower frequency with the increase of thickness. With the increase of thickness, absorption decreases from 23 dB to 7.5 dB in 1-8 GHz; but in 8-18 GHz absorption first increases gradually to maximum and then decrease. When hydrated cement with 30% steel slag ground for 60 min was cured for 285 d, the best absorption is 12 dB at a band width range of 13-18 GHz, and the bandwidth of 8 dB reaches 5 GHz. A high potential application of steel slag in electromagnetic protection is expected.
