N2 - The dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) in air is generated using multineedle-to-plane DBD excited by a μs oscillation pulse power supply. The voltage and current waveforms under different conditions were measured, and the lighting emission images were taken, with the discharge parameter, such as discharge power and the transported charges being calculated. The influences of the density of the multineedle electrode, the applied voltage amplitude and the gas gap distance on the discharge characteristics and discharge parameters of multineedle-to-plane DBD were studied. Results show that, the discharge power and transported charges of this DBD are several tens of watts and thousands of nano-coulombs, respectively, and both of them increase with the increasing of the applied voltage amplitude and reducing the gas gap distance. It is showed that the density of the multineedle-to-plane electrode has little influence on the discharge parameters, but the extending distance of the discharge on the dielectric barrier is enlarged and the uniformity of the discharge is improved by increasing the density of the multineedle-to-plane electrode.
