Abstract

The platform layer of the subway station was a confined space, so different structures, such as the location and structure of stairs, the installation of platform edge door, have vital influence on the subway station fires. The fire was located on the platform layer of the train arranges on to simulate the smoke diffusion by CFD. The influence of different structures on smoke control was compared. Results indicate that different structures have different influence on the smoke flowing. The efficiency of exhaust was raised by 22.3%. Comparing the worst and the best situation and the temperature difference reaches 53K. The smoke was restrained in the railway space after installing the platform door to reduce the damage of high temperature smoke and raise the efficiency of exhaust. It's feasible to design the structures for optimizing the smoke control model by designing the location, the structure of stairs and the installation of platform edge door.
