Abstract

Hydrochloric 6-guandinyl hexanoic acid is synthesized from caprolactam by the hydrolization to give 6-aminohexanoic acid which is subjected to reaction with S-methylisothioureasulfate to obtain 6-guandinyl hexanoic acid, then reacted with dilute hydrochloric acid followed by 6-guandinyl hexanoic acid salt formation. The method has been improved in the process of synthesis of 6-aminocaproic and 6-guandinyl hexanoic acid and the total yield can be increased to 70.4%.
